About Me
Hello! I'm bloodmuffins (they/them), and I'm a dingo therian. I have been a member of the therian and broader nonhuman/alterhuman communities since 2009. I have been active on many forums and social media spaces over the years; however, I typically do not post much of my original content. That is what I am hoping to change with this website. I would like to share more about my experiences with nonhumanity to hopefully resonate with other folks in the community.
Additionally, I am a researcher and therapist working to spread accurate and positive information about nonhuman identities. When I was a senior in high school, I resolved to devote my career to psychological research on nonhuman identity in order to give back to this community that means so much to me. I now hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology and am continuing to work towards my PhD. Because nonhuman identities are not broadly known and are often met with stigma, it has at times been challenging to figure out how to integrate my professional and nonhuman identities. I find myself in a unique position of outness in a field that expects an inordinate amount of privacy and without any role models of professionally out therians to look to for guidance. It is thus my hope to share about these and other experiences so that younger alterhumans might have the representation I have lacked.
